Our micro school is located on the beautiful Bloomsbury Farm, in Smyrna, Rutherford County, Tennessee. Enrichment activities and Farm Fridays will take place at Bloomsbury and across Middle Tennessee

We follow a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We welcome further discussion to better understand your specific needs if you require flexibility!

We want to ensure that we’re a good fit for your family! We offer a one-month happiness guarantee. This 30-day trial period offers the opportunity for each family to determine if we’re the best fit for them. This also allows our team the opportunity to evaluate and ensure that we have the resources needed to meet the needs of each student.

All enrollment plans are based on the local school year calendar and require a one-semester (five-month) commitment. If enrolling mid-year, there is a five-month commitment. After the one-semester or five-month commitment, enrollments may be cancelled with 30 days written notice.

Our school is designed for learners in 4th grade through 12th grade ( roughly ages 9-18). At this time, we follow Montessori Upper Elementary and Secondary I and II programming.

At Arbor Learning Lab, we follow a Montessori-inspired, mastery-based approach to education. Our curriculum blends core academic standards with interdisciplinary, project based, real-world learning experiences. Students progress through thematic learning cycles built around three pillars: Discovery, Exploration, and Innovation allowing them to connect academic content with hands-on projects, field studies, and personal interests.

We meet (and often exceed) Tennessee’s grade-level expectations while offering flexible pathways for students to demonstrate mastery through:

• Project-based learning

• Fieldwork and place-based education (including regular farm visits and community trips)

• Personalized learning plans

• Dual enrollment, internships, and entrepreneurial projects (for high school students)

Subjects are integrated and taught through living books, Socratic seminars, and open work cycles that promote critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.

Instead of a boxed or scripted curriculum, we curate high-quality resources and design each cycle to meet the needs of our students while preparing them for life beyond the classroom.

Arbor Learning Lab is currently going through the Middle States Next Generation Accreditation process. This is an important step toward becoming a Level III approved private school in Tennessee.

Our goal is to become eligible for ESA and EFS funds by the 2026–2027 school year. In the meantime, we offer flexible tuition plans and are happy to support families in exploring available financial options.
